HEALTHY HORSES – The benefits of being ‘Mobile’
We at Equine Salt Therapy are excited to have launched our first ‘mobile’ salt therapy unit. Being mobile means we can access more horses and they too can benefit from our salt treatment the same way the thoroughbred racehorses do in our permanent salt rooms.
We hit the road and world quickly got around. We have already seen some amazing results from horses being placed into our mobile units and breathing in the fine particles of salt that also rests on the horse’s coat and improves skin conditions.
Rebecca Waymouth, trainer at Waymouth Racing was one of our first trainers to experience the mobile unit. Bec, who puts horse welfare very high on her list of priorities, was referred to us by her vet Eoin Kelly founder of Racetrack veterinary services in Mornington. A few of her horses ahd some skin and mucus problems that couldn’t be resolved through the traditional methods. After just three consecutive treatments in the mobile salt unit the visible skin condition was healing well.
Bec was recently interviewed by quillypark.com.au and was quoted as saying “we had a horse who had mucus in her airways and spent a lot on drugs. Just three Salt Therapy treatments and the mucus 100% cleared up”.
Another great story comes in the form of a ‘Camp Drafting’ horse – Preacher. Tim White, Veterinary Surgeon & Partner of Main Ridge Veterinary Clinic referred Preacher to us after owner Richelle could not get rid of a 2 year cough.
After 6 treatments there were clear signs that the cough was subsiding allowing Preacher to compete in a camp drafting competition the following weekend. As an added bonus Preacher’s coat looked amazing! We will continue to treat Preacher over the coming weeks and will keep you updated on the progress via future blogs.
