IRELAND’S AMAZING EQUINE ATHLETES

We have finally arrived in Co. Kildare and it’s easy to see how Ireland produces some amazing equine athletes. The amazing lush green pastures that go on for miles are home to one of the Irish’s great loves – Horses. Driving past ‘The Curragh’ everyday is a real privilege.

Here at Tully East Racing, the stables of owner Barry Connell and leading trainer Alan Fleming, we are constructing a salt therapy room for their much loved and cared for horses.

Despite a little jetlag we are off and running and straight onto the tools. Ordering our supplies from a local supplier before leaving Australia saved us a lot of time as all the materials were here on our doorstep when we arrived.

After measuring up the room in readiness for fitout, we decided to hang our Equine Salt Therapy plaque made and designed by www.progress-signs.com.au on the door of the Salt Room. We have created a bit of interest at the stables with many wondering what on earth we are doing. Two Aussie blokes mucking around in a stable. We are welcoming the inquisition and love explaining why we are here. The Irish people have an outstanding knowledge and appreciation for animal husbandry and are quick to understand the benefits of what we are doing. Our proud stamp on this amazing stable.

Our Accommodation at the Keadeen Hotel www.keadeenhotel.ie in Newbridge is outstanding. It is in the heart of County Kildare – “The Thoroughbred County”. This amazing Hotel is family owned and we felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The Keadeen Hotel hosted a ‘Preview Night’ featuring once off legends such as Ruby Walsh and AP McCoy. We were lucky enough to arrive in time to partake in this great event.

Our inviting accommodation.

Stay tuned for more blogs on our progress.
